Happy Birthday Sakura! ‘13
Me n’ this fantastic girl have had a long ride. Before I started watching Naruto I’d seen AMVs for her and thought she was great! Then after the seeing the first few episodes I hated her guts. I’m guilty of it. I was a total Sakura hater, I bashed the shit outta “Suckera” and for a long time I couldn’t stand anything to do with her. Then episode 32 rolled around and my opinion was slightly different. The more episodes she appeared in the less malice I had towards her and while I still insisted that I hated Sakura, I began to snap at my friends who made snide comments about her and by the time shippuden rolled around. I fucking adored her. And my 11 year old self was an idiot for hating her. I see a lot of myself in Sakura, I think we share a lot of the same weaknesses and strengths. I can’t get over how much I love this girl now.

She wasn’t sure if it was shock or fear that caused her to freeze.
Probably both.
There he stood. At first glance, practically the same as he did three years prior. His stance with the same arrogance, an unreadable expression of coldness plastered to his face. Yet even she could sense the darkness that consumed him, it seeped out of his being like a stalking predator with murderous intent. She knew he was not the same boy she had known in her youth. This man would kill her without hesitation or remorse.
She knew this and yet…she froze. Completely wide open for attack.
The two stood completely still for a moment. The only sound to break the silence was the wind blowing pieces of debris around the barren landscape.
Sasuke was the first to move. Moving so fast, the frightened Kunoichi could only see the blur of his after image. He re-appeared a mere foot in front of where she was standing. Her hair blew violently in the wind, teal eyes widening in shock, she felt tears on the rise but she fought them back.
What he did next, or didn’t do next is what pushed Ino to her breaking point.
He just stood there.
Why hadn’t he killed her? She had no means to defend herself other than to dodge and they both knew he was fast enough to catch up in a matter of seconds. Ino felt her knees begin to weaken and then shake as she fell to the ground.
Her hands dug into the dirt. Tears now flooding from her eyes, her blonde hair matted and wet all over her face. She didn’t dare look up into his eyes, she didn’t need to see his expression of disgust, she knew how pathetic she looked. The words she wanted to scream wouldn’t form in her mouth.
Knowing that she had no intention of attacking him, Sasuke began to slowly step around the distraught young woman.
“Don’t fight him.” She managed to murmur.
Her words had no effect, he continued to walk slowly, further away from her, further away from the person he used to be. She buried her face in her hands, dirt and tears mixing together, she didn’t care. A small wail escaped her lips.
There was a slight pause and suddenly she looked up in shock.
Was it her or did she hear him utter something?
